Qingdao held a conference on the 9th of March to promote Made in Qingdao with the aim of building Qingdao into a modern manufacturing base with international competitiveness and the model trial city of Made in China 2025.

The conference said the city should promote new 5 Gold Flowers of Qingdao manufacturing industry, which are the CRRC Sifang Locomotive Company, TGOOD, Red Collar, BMSG, MESNAC, to a new level, and at the same time upgrade existing 5 gold flowers, including Haier, Hisense, Double Stars, Tsingtao Beer, and Aucma.

The conference also said the city shall implement the 4+ strategy to make breakthroughs in 4 Manufacturing and to accelerate integration of 4 chains to achieve upgraded version of Qingdao manufacturing. 4+ strategy means Internet+, Marine+. Standardization+, and Internationalization+, the city shall put efforts into developing the Internet industry to push integration of the manufacturing industry and Internet to boost the innovative practice of companies and cultivate new growth engine and extend the development chain of Internet industry. The city will put more efforts into marine engineering machine and high-tech ship, seawater purification, and marine new energy equipment, marine bio, and marine materials areas based on One Valley Two Zones key function zone. Qingdao will also accelerate the optimization of all industry chains to build blue manufacturing highland. Qingdao will lead and make more companies and industry standards based on 10 industry 100-billion-industry-chains and 10 emerging industries to establish standard system for Qingdao manufacturing industry, then enhance company competitiveness of companies and encourage them to grab the highland of industry competition. Making breakthroughs in 4 Manufacturing means Qingdao will take developing smart manufacturing, boutique manufacturing, green manufacturing, and service manufacturing as the development direction to enhance the competitiveness of companies and the industry. Accelerating integration of 4 chains means accelerating integration of industry chain, innovation chain, talent chain and capital chain to provide a solid basis for manufacturing industry.

The conference also said Qingdao will further improve the environment for manufacturing industry development and to make great efforts for new development and leap forward for Qingdao manufacturing industry.
